Technology for ecological restoration, wildlife conservation, international development. Wireless communications nerd.
Had a great time chatting with Dr. Meredith Palmer & Elecia White on the Embedded podcast. The theme was conservation technology & we felt it was important to have the tech & ecology side represented.

A recent maintenance trip to our main sensor network deployment site in Australia. It's a collaborative project with Bush Heritage and Monash University and we've been collecting data on the reserve since 2023. We're looking at how the ecosystem & soil respond over time after restoration works.

Looking forward to reading the US National Nature Assessment report and awed by the courage of the people involved that are trying to publish it, even after it had been killed.

Climate change keeps throwing us more curveballs - well more like high, hard fastballs right at our head - and we don't pay enough attention to make the necessary changes. Once upon a time The Blob was a sci-fi film. Now it is a disaster in the sea. www.nytimes.com/2024/12/01/c...

It’s very disappointing to hear this. The sad thing about a lot of conservation technology is that they can also be used for human surveillance just as much as wildlife monitoring.
