Excited to share a big milestone in my #PhD journey: my first-ever preregistration is officially published! 🚀
It’s been a challenging but rewarding process and marks the start of my project I conduct at @viennacogscihub.bsky.social and @vdscobene.bsky.social . Onward! 🧠 #OpenScience #Academia

Doing data analysis with only limited prior data analysis training and an approaching, crucial deadline hits differently.

So, this is what it feels like to do a #phd… 😅🫠

Looking forward to the TUS Fundmentals Workshop by
Brainbox Initiative. What a great opportunity to learn from the best in the field and to bring home knowledge and skills for my project at

Looking forward to next term, consisting mostly of classes in neurobiology and neuroanatomy. Thx to @vdscobene.bsky.social and @univie.ac.at for enabling their PhDs to take all sorts of classes from all programs! This really helps to gain expertise tailored to one's project! 🧠

Being for my first time ever a reviewer for a journal.
To my horror, I discovered that I am a Reviewer 2!... 😱😭

Last day(s) of my visit to UCLA's Monti Lab. Big thanks to you and your team!
Special thanks to Amber R. Hopkins for the ultrasound stimulation (+EEG TMS) training and to my supervisor, Julia S. Crone, and @viennacogscihub.bsky.social for enabling the trip. It was a great contribution to my work!

Shoutout to this year's Winter Workshop on Complex Systems organizers! And to all the participants as well! Such a fun and inspiring mix of researchers I got to meet there. 🤓

One thing I do in my literature reading behavior is adopt a Reviewer #2 mindset and try my best to destroy whatever paper I read.

helps me a lot in understanding. But also brings out some very dark parts of my personality I wish weren't there... 🫠😅

Being aware that I will never be able to fully grasp all the stunning stuff that is out there feels very exhausting and humbling for me.

Yet, at the same time, it is exactly this that gives science and philosophy this bitter-sweet taste that I adore so much!

happy to announce that after days of almost ridiculous energy and motivation for drafting a new paper, I have finally reached a stagnating plateau and my brain is just fried 🧠🍟

let's see how it goes today ...

Read of the day: "Lessons for experimental philosophy from the rise and “fall” of neurophilosophy" (Bickle, 2017). I'm no experimental philosopher. I read it more or less by coincidence, as it sparked my NeuroSci interest. Very insightful and entertaining paper!

Finally online: "Explanatory power by vagueness. Challenges to the strong prior hypothesis on hallucinations exemplified by the Charles-Bonnet-Syndrome"

was quite a journey to develop it... and I'm super excited that it's finally published 🙌

Giving another talk at VHS Urania this evening. Some residuals from my time in linguistics: "Psycholinguistik 101"

My next talk there will be about my current research on the neuroscience of creativity and cognitive flexibility I conduct with the @viennacogscihub.bsky.social at @univie.ac.at.

And on another note: the video of the VHS Science Contest is online:

happy to announce that my first first-author paper got accepted yesterday! A great collaboration with @mokriegleder.bsky.social 🙌

The discrepancy between how smart I feel when writing vs when reading reviewer comments (esp rev 2 ofc) is savage 😅🙈
