#citscihelvetia is over, another great chance to learn, share and meet practitioners and researchers from Switzerland 🇨🇭 and all over the world 🌎
I had the chance to present our project on #flood risk communication and get interesting insights on how to implement #citsci in sociological research!

Meeting with colleagues in Bologna to discuss content analysis of the #publicconsultation recordings.
What’s your go-to tool for text content analysis?

Btw #Bologna is always beautiful, but already very hot!

Reading the interesting essay " #scicomm, politics and power: social justice perspectives" by Emily Dawson and @simonjlock.bsky.social

I'm wondering — does anyone have updated survey data on what languages scientists speak in different countries?

On April 5 we brought together ~80 Italian #citizens for a #publicconsultation on #climatechange & #floodrisk — step 2 of SCARER project:
1️⃣ National Survey
2️⃣ Consultation
3️⃣ Co-creation workshops
Now diving into 36+ hrs of recordings: non-researcher voices are reshaping how I think about #risk.

It's a wrap! Leaving the @pcstnetwork.bsky.social conference 2025 🛫 I met many people whose work I already admired and got to meet so many amazing #scicomm practitioners and researchers. I hope I'll make it for the next one! #Scotland #conference

I've been working with Francesca di Rosa, immunologist at CNR and the Francis Crick Institute, on "Vaccination a Time"—originally a stand-exhibit for the Royal Society Summer Science Week 2024, now expanding into a podcast and more events. Soon updates!

My first post on #Bluesky, moving from #X, was about Dr. Strangelove's final speech reminding me of #Musk... I wasn't wrong after all... The gesture, just like in the movie, was neither intentional nor unintentional, it was just a Freudian slip!

First post after switching from X. I was watching Dr. Strangelove for the first time. In his final dialogue with the president, he reminded me of someone...

Rainy sunday, perfect time to set up my equipment for #editing and recording the next "On time" #podcast episode, part of the "Vaccination, a time machine" project🔬🎤

As mush as I love audio as a #scicomm medium, I wish editing was quicker... Anyone planning to implement the next AI tool?😅

There is no perfect social media, each platform builds on the strengths and weaknesses of the other. Let's make the best of what we have! Here's a "🐦 X 🦋" I generated to represent this.

Check out this interactive graph about how different scientists are perceived by people with different political orientation in the US!
Mathematicians are perceived as trustworthy from both sides... clearly most people never had the chance to talk with a mathematician after a beer or two😉

Super happy that our research on stereotypes about scientists is now published! Curious which scientific discipline is the most powerful 💪, the most trustworthy 😇, or the most conservative 🐘? Explore the data yourself in our shiny app: 02mfnt-tobias-wingen.shinyapps.io/app-polsci/

Interesting data about the public perception of researchers' communication skills: fewer than half of us citizens (45%) view research scientists as good communicators.

I'd be curious to know how are researchers' #scicomm skills perceived in Europe and around the world... Any suggestion?
