I do art & writing & dreamwork & tarot & shamanism. I think I might be retired because I don't have a job. 🤷 I used to work as a dev & a visual artist before that. I admire reason, but I'm not a rationalist nor materialist. Remedios Varo is my hero!

Before you follow me…

I have no idea why hundreds of people follow me, I can only think of a few dozen who have had more than a passing interaction with me. I occasionally reply or post stuff, but really, I expect to be obscure and mostly ignored.

Let me just explain a tiny bit about myself…
It'd be one thing if people who know nothing about US politics *asked* if their ideas were feasible, but they never do. It is always some idea they heard about but never looked into.

Lately it is the constant refrain about impeachment. Do you have 2/3 of the Senate?

Trump seems incapable of absorbing information and he's never even risen to the level of mediocre in his understanding of business and the economy. His fantasy about oil is absurd, nobody is going to rush in to try this, and there is no appetite or need for this! 🙄

Over the decades I've had lots of friends and coworkers from Europe, Asia & the Middle East tell me weird things they believe about Americans. But people from South & Central American never do that, they seem to see us clearly. 🤔

And Australians never say anything about it. Maybe just hiding it? 🤷😆

About 15 years ago there was an article about a time traveller visiting a chat group for fun. He said there are multiple timelines and in his there was a WWIII with nukes in 2015. And that nobody could go past year 2500, it was blocked somehow.

I guess I'm glad I didn't end up in that timeline. 🤷 🤔

I already blocked 100 people yelling at Jeffries for not using some magic power they imagine he has to stop or arrest the Administration. Time to log off.

I wonder if they saw some TV drama and think the minority party has enough power to do things like that? 🤷

Well... vote better next time, eh?

Most of my friends are left of center (academia & musicians) but hardly any of them pay attention to foreign sources or military news, two of the most important topics in the world today. After the Hamas attack when most of them were talking "genocide" I'd ask them if they were talking about Sudan,…

Bumped into this 2019 recording of Victoria Canal doing her own tune with a Joni Mitchell into, and recalled the pre-pandemic world and what it was like. She has an expression that I find enveloping and engaging.

The really dumb thing that Trump just did was to damage an already broken system in a country that isn't functioning very well. They import 80% of their food & this idiocy is going to cause suffering & famine and that will cause a mass out-migration event, putting more pressure on nearby countries.😳

Just paid my supplemental drug insurance plan for the year, which has gone up 800% percent this year, but it pays for almost all drugs. Foolish people think Medicare covers everything and is free. It doesn't and isn't. Still wish I had my ACA plan, *that* was great coverage 1/5 of my Medicare fees.🤷

Here in W. PA we have a long history of immigrants and labor movements and rust belt revitalization in the post-industrial era. In the last 25 years we've had a lot of Progressive Mayors around here and they usually don't last when there are potholes and the garbage isn't removed or crime rises. 🧐

I'd been reading about #HumanDesign for a while before first seeing my bodygraph. It was quite interesting, but the thing that clinched it for me was reading the description of my 5/1 profile, it was the best description of me I'd ever heard, what I do, motivations, and how others respond to me. 🧐🤔🥹

What the KENNEDY Center used to be…

Remember that time Aretha Franklin performed at the 2015 Kennedy Center Honors, paying tribute to Carole King, who co-wrote “You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman,” and it brought a tear to Obama’s eye and everyone to their feet? And Carole King’s reaction. Wow.

Terence Blanchard picks his favorite jazz Christmas albums. I like most of his choices, but would have gone with Oscar Peterson, in fact I was just listening to his amazing complete 1964 Tokyo concert!

Merry Christmas!

I started listening to podcasts back when the BBC put "In Our Time" into RSS format. Since then I've always managed to find something interesting to listen to when driving/cooking/cleaning. But yesterday I found one on a topic I like that was 4.5 hours long! 🙄
Nope. C'mon people! That's just evil! 🙏

When I was young conspiracy theories were actually believable. The CIA or maybe Castro shot JFK, etc. It was simple and realistic enough that it might be true. But these days the fantasies have become rather overelaborate and absurd. The one that makes me laugh is the nano-bot theory.

Some believe…

I don't know why people think Putin is going to ever stop fighting unless utterly forced to stop. I have mixed feelings about this "Military Show" channel as their coverage is not usually very deep, but this gets to the deeper issues driving this terrible war.

I wish BlueSky had a "strikes" button. My rule is to block people who make absurd remarks about "My Topic." I just don't need that.

But anyone can say stupid stuff, so if I could just click "strike" and it would mute/block when it hit 3 in a month, that would save me from reviewing my block list.

I've been repairing my old gas dryer for over a decade. YT repair videos and online parts stores have saved me tons in repair fees. But I just spent 3+ hours trying to get it going again and just had to accept that it was time to let it go. It was beyond my DIY skills and, actually, it was getting…
