Looking at the #NintendoDirect Switch 2 is about to compete with Wii U for "easiest full set" with all those key cards taking games out of the equation. Even Bandai Namco doesn't care, despite doing Cyberpunk 2077. Guess we need more investors asking Ninty tough questions for anything to change.

Deceiving box art should be illegal! No disclaimer on the box art. Amazon listing says key card. Support 1: "fully on card". Support 2: "game-key card". Online stores were led to believe fully on card, but had to correct to game-key card. Get your shit together, games industry!

Well, NIS America are releasing Disgaea 7 Complete Edition as a game-key card. Their official explanation is to "align with evolving platform trends". The so-called trend seems to be crashing and burning, as stock for the game was still at 100 % 24 hours after the announcement.

as a video game collector, the Game-Key Card situation is really bumming me out
only 4 of the 26 physical Switch 2 releases we know of are on the game card. the rest are GKC.

Switch 2 day one patch allegedly needed for backwards compatibility. Not looking good, but as long as Switch 2 games at launch come with the necessary firmware, there is an offline workaround. High time we get our hands on this thing.

Dragon Quest 1&2 physical release on Switch 1 and PS5, but NOT on Switch 2. Spending money on expensive SW1 cards and PS5, but not the new, hyped console. Maybe there is more to key cards emerging than a lack of card options and high production costs. Just a thought.
