Oh, 💯 this. We need a new sketch comedy show. I wish Picnic Face had taken off. We really fucked over the early 2010s Canadian creatives.
I think if Canada wants to have a strong cultural identity we need to go back to doing what we're best at, making the weirdest fucking TV shows you've ever seen

Even if the 1B views metric is farcical, looking past the Canadian Premier League's ceiling and citing the Grey Cup as Canada's premier sporting culture export is the opposite of visionary.

No one is coming to save you. Unless you’ve leveraged yourself as indispensable or someone put you where you are, push harder to impossible-to-ignore status.

It feels a bit silly, and not at all surprising, that there's not a single reference to the @halifaxexaminer.ca reporting on this topic in Ebner's Globe article on the matter.

I've written a lot over my career about women's football. Match tweets for National Teams, season previews for long-forgotten (or likely not forgotten) leagues, odes to milestones, and retirements, and promising futures.

Found myself mindfully ingesting the house numbers I was walking by as lived experience through age. I thought of my twenties, got to my current age and noted I was near the end of the road.

It's insane to me that anyone can see Breaking4 as a failure. Someone tried to do something no other woman has ever come even close to accomplishing, and made a spectacle out of the attempt. Trying audacious things rarely works. So, how isn't this a brilliant victory for all involved?!

I had hoped we wouldn't find ourselves in this full-on hockey rhetoric again and that the we'd embrace a new, global approach to defining Canada's brand in this crisis. Alas. I'll never not think that football would provide a much greater translator for Canada's strengths.

What is this weird "store-closing" trend that scammers are running on IG? Can we just turn the internet off, and back on again, and see if it fixes things?

I'm confused by what the implication of the "Brantford Boomer" meme is meant to be. Is it pearl clutching that someone might *gasp* have the gall to flip double bird... and thus sink an entire election?
