Just finished Staircase in the Woods by Chuck Wendig. It was great but as with most horror books, I’m glad it’s over so I can get some sleep. I wrote a song earlier this year called Tear It Down that I think pairs nicely with the book. A very “demo” version is available for streaming everywhere.

When I read posts like “we need big huge protests like [insert country here]” it makes me sad. The US is having huge multi-million people protests but it’s such a huge country that we can’t logistically be in the same city so it looks like we’re luke warm about what’s happening here.

I wish we could get rid of the red vs blue (and blue vs blue) mentality. I think we have to think of it as sane folks vs MAGA if we’re going to take our country back. I welcome everyone who realizes that this awfulness isn’t making us great.

We throw around the word “cult” a lot without really meaning it. But these folks *are* in a cult. Maybe that indicates a weakness on their part. I was bullied as a kid & at one time at bible camp I joined a group that was bullying someone else. So I know I have that weakness inside myself too.

My 87 yo mother broke her leg yesterday. It’s a complicated fracture so it took a while to find a bed at a hospital with a surgeon who can handle it. There’s other interesting stuff to share if anyone is curious but bottom line is, I feel like I don’t have mental bandwidth for a family emergency.

We must resist the urge to hate on the former Trump supporters who are waking up to the reality of what they voted for. There’s no point to protesting if the only goal is to prove we were right. We don’t have the numbers unless we let these people join the resistance.

These mass firings then reinstatements with “oops I guess we needed you actually”… I wonder if they’re the result of incompetence or part of an evil plan to give folks a taste of unemployment to keep them in line when later asked to do things that might go against their conscience.

I noticed news articles are now referring to social security as a “politically popular program” like it’s a handout and not our own money that has been taken out of every paycheck since we got that first teenage summer job. I see where this is headed.

My Sweetwater dude is named Janis (pronounced YAH-is, I think). Pronouns in email signatures are very helpful in this age where everyone isn’t named John or Mary. Enola Gay, transgenic mice - this country is being run by people who thought Idiocrasy was an instructional video.

I’m so sick of news articles about how the American people are tired of supporting Ukraine. The question shouldn’t even be asked. We made a deal and I’m enraged that so many people either don’t know about that deal or think it’s fine to not uphold our end of it.

I have met so many really cool people from all over the world on Twitch and most of us seem to be living under governments we didn’t choose. How did I miss all the jerks who voted for this garbage? Do they just not listen to music? 🤷♀️ maybe that’s the problem…
