They cancelled the F32 how to webinar… I knew it was coming but it still hurts.

The new F32 formatting for the personal section is really nice. Moving on from graduate school has me in my feels but its really nice to be able to outline personal non-research goals for my postdoc with things I’ve always wanted to do like teach a class.

Hi #microsky! Would anyone be willing to share their funded NIH F32 application with me, preferably in the realm of microbiology but anything would be helpful!

How do bacteria experience nutrient stress in nature? In our new preprint, we study how cells respond to nutrient limitation under flow. We find that in flow, cells can grow on concentrations of glucose 1,000 times lower than in batch cell culture. (1/5)

I enjoyed Project Hail Mary quite a bit after suspending disbelief - though I think it would have been nice if a microbiologist had been consulted on the book. Little details could have been fleshed out to make the experiments more realistic.

So excited to see this in press! Congratulations to @anu-sharma.bsky.social for her fantastic work and first published first author paper. Check it out!!!
Do you feel stressed?
Is it one thing or a combination?

Turns out bacteria can’t handle stress either!

Excited to share my first first author paper out now in @currentbiology.bsky.social!

Combining multiple stressors blocks bacterial migration and growth! www.cell.com/current-biol...
