On 1 July 2008 an 84-year-old woman was killed crossing this slip road to Sheffield Parkway in Handsworth.
17 years later it is still just as dangerous.
But now it has some vital GOOD LUCK signs 🤞

In 2013 19 year-old Cian Pace was killed when the car he was in crashed near Netherthorpe Primary School.
In 14 years 7 people have lost their lives on the 40mph sections of the ring road. Around 85 more have been seriously injured.

Do you need to cross Catley Road next to Greenland Road in Darnall, Sheffield? Sorry, there are several directions of vehicle traffic that need their go, and there’s no crossing for people.

GOOD LUCK to people using this dropped kerb crossing point on Broadfield Road, opposite a ginnel leading towards abbeydale road. It’s near a blind bend that motorists drive round really quickly. 🤞

On 19 October 2015, 24-year-old architecture student Robert Henry was cycling up Crookes Valley Road when he was hit and killed by the driver of a van.
Last week SCC agreed a "safety scheme" here.
The road will continue to have no protected cycle space, and will keep its lethal 30mph speed limit.

In May 2018 Naveed Fazal was killed when he apparently lost control of his car at “over 60mph” on Abbeydale Road South.
The coroner couldn’t see how speed was a factor. But did ask SCC to ensure the “speed limit is within safe levels.”
Years later the road continues to enable lethal speed.
