These are the helpers in the reflective vests. They help the people that were released after they are detained and then later cleared. The ICE agents take the detainees ID's & phones away (and don't give them back) and the innocent victims are just dumped with no resources, wearing whatever they were taken in (it is very cold here) with no way to contact their family or get back home. The helpers give them a burner phone and a ride (among other things). That's really nice. I think that's what I want to do. 1. Security professionals who train high-risk personnel worldwide agree on one absolute: your survival odds at the first location are 90%. At a secondary location they drop to under 10%. Everything - guns, knives, threats to your family - is designed to get you to move. Don’t move.‎2. Here’s why: Attackers choose the first location because it has witnesses, cameras, escape routes - things that limit what they can do. The secondary location has none of those. They’re not taking you somewhere better. They’re taking you somewhere they have complete control. Once you’re there, negotiation ends.‎3. The brutal math: Even if they have a gun and fire in public, trauma surgeons give gunshot victims 80-90% survival rates. Compliance and transport to a secondary location has a 90% fatality or severe harm rate. Fight, scream, run at location one. Make them do whatever they’re threatening right there in public. They almost never will.‎4. Why this isn’t taught everywhere: It requires accepting that compliance - the thing society tells women keeps them safe - actually transfers all power to the attacker. Parents can’t stomach telling daughters “get shot if necessary but don’t get in that car.” But crime data is clear: resistance at point of contact saves lives.‎5. You’ve probably thought “I’d cooperate and escape later.” Believed you could talk your way out once you understood what they wanted. That’s the miscalculation that gets people killed.
