I guess that's fair but I'm sure you could remove those sales and both games would still be enormous financial (and critical) successes. It's not some great mystery why Sony is milking this particular cash cow.

Literally the opposite is true.

I'm surprised they haven't already done this

@cabel.panic.com A friend saw this in Alberta today and we agreed that the only thing that makes sense is that it must belong to you.

UT always felt weirdly slippery and heavy to me compared to Q3A. I still feel that way about modern UE shooters compared to id Tech or Source derived games.

I can see this, but it feels like a strange move when Breath of the Wild saw the most mass market success of any Zelda game by far while largely dispensing with any hand holding.

@frankcifaldi.bsky.social I was remarking recently about how you can always spot a retail shipment from Nintendo from a mile away because they've used this distinctive brown packing tape for years, so it was funny to see similar looking tape and boxes in this photo of the NES launch from your panel

You could spritz a paper towel with IPA for like 1 cent per wipe instead of 58 cents (!!)

They're cosmetics that can be bought and sold with real money (of which Valve takes a cut), and the mechanics behind acquiring them are designed with predatory dark patterns. So maybe not enshittification in the usual sense, but certainly gross and anti consumer, as all gambling is.
November 24, 2025 at 10:24 PM
I get this but I would also argue that all of the gambling/loot boxes in Steam and recent valve games is a form of enshittification.

Why do you hashtag random words?

There has been a rush among centrists like Gavin Newsom and Ezra Klein to brush over the hateful life of Charlie Kirk and valorize the man.

Let me be clear, killing Charlie Kirk was wrong and abhorrent.

We must condemn murder without sanitizing a man who built his empire on hate.

My latest piece.
We Must Not Posthumously Sanitize Charlie Kirk's Hateful Life
Influential anti-LGBTQ+ activist Charlie Kirk was assassinated on Wednesday. While condemning violence is something most can get behind, sanitization of his hate has gone too far.

@okomotive.ch I'm getting a black screen every time I go to bed at the first campfire on PS5 😢 Loaded my saved game a couple times but I can't progress past the campfire.

Someone posted this on Reddit but great news - in another three weeks AI will be writing 90% of code

www.businessinsider.com/anthropic-ce...
Anthropic's CEO says that in 3 to 6 months, AI will be writing 90% of the code software developers were in charge of
"And then in 12 months, we may be in a world where AI is writing essentially all of the code," Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei said.

The Department of Defense’s book banning policies aren’t about protecting kids — they’re about suppressing critical thinking and diverse ideas as part of President Trump’s “anti-wokeness” agenda.

We’re suing the DoD to defend students’ First Amendment rights.
What's Included in the 596 Books Banned by the Department of Defense Education Activity?
Here is the list of nearly 600 books banned by the Department of Defense in military schools across the globe.
