This week I wrote about vigilance, and how I'm less interested in litigating whether Garron Noone is a racist, than in whether what he said was true or not. It wasn't. And people are right to be alarmed that he said it, and to wonder why he did.

Séamas O'Reilly: I think anti-racists are right to be on high alert
I’m less concerned with why Garron Noone said what he said, than with whether it’s true or not

There was 8 months between Hitler being democratically elected and the outlawing of every political party in Germany.

That is going to look a snail's pace compared to the US of the 21st century.
The US State Department is forcing all of its employees to cancel subscriptions to any Trump-unfriendly media.

Government-supporting TDs looking for rights to speak as the opposition is the only 'subversion to the constitution' that happened today.

An absolute scourge on the country.

This is like Sinn Féin coming out to defend the Orange Order.
This is somehow much worse than what I expected

Nazi salutes on day one says its own story

Grim.

Great to see that the far-right have taken a bit of kicking across the country, much worse than expected.

Stephen Donnelly in trouble for re-election is just really, really great to see for people of all political persuasions.

Not sure Feighan's seat is as certain as lads on Ocean think just yet. He will more than likely get in but he'll be waiting a while for transfers you'd think, until Nessa is eliminated at least.

Scanlon, Kenny, Feighan and that last seat is a toss up yet.

Looks like it could be a brilliant day for the Soc Dems if those numbers hold.

SF - FF - Ind

Is where the numbers could lie.

Said it to a few today but there's a lot of logic behind it for all 3 parties if it did come to pass.

Predictions at this stage:

Good days for: FF, SocDems (🤞), Independent Ireland

OK day: SF, most Independents, Labour, Aontú, PBP

Bad day: FG, Greens, some Independents.

Another thing about the McGregor case, once again it shows how all these far-right creeps, who idolise him, that talk about 'protecting women' are just projecting their own deficiencies and views, every time.

One of those rare days where faith in humanity is restored just a little bit.

An opportunity for us to have 30+ class sizes for 5 years?

Vote FF!🙄
These comments from Norma Foley at the INTO’s education debate are beginning to cause a stir in teacher circles.

Is the abject shortage of teachers - where it’s almost impossible to get a substitute teacher - a ‘crisis’?

The minister would prefer to label it an “opportunity”…

The thing that made the other place great initially was the ability to engage and interact with all manner of opinions, agree and disagree

I hope here doesn't become an echo chamber in opposite but Musk's place is just rampant with such extreme lies and blind hatred it's hard to see it repeatedly.

Hopefully a return to way it used to be, not just fascist and crypto bros being repeatedly boosted on the feed.
