@fire.loudoun.gov units are on the scene of a structure fire at Potomac Falls Health and Rehab Center in the 46000 block of Leesburg Pike in Sterling. The fire has been extinguished, and crews remain on scene conducting salvage and overhaul operations.

INCIDENT ALERT: #LCFR crews are on scene of an outside gas leak in the area of Waxpool Rd. & Pacific Blvd. Gas company is on scene assessing the extent of the leak. Several businesses in the area have been evacuated as a precaution. Avoid the area, traffic impacts are expected.

Today we remember Lt. Alex J. Keepers, who was tragically killed in a vehicle accident on his way to work at FS3 (Middleburg) on December 31, 2007. Lt. Keepers joined #LCFR in January ‘02 as a member of RC6.

We honor his service & will never forget his sacrifice & the sacrifice of his family.

#LCFR is on scene of a shed fire w/ extension to high tension power lines & a transformer in the 1900 blk of N. Amelia St. Due to the line location, there was an explosion related to the transformer on the power pole. Fire has been extinguished. No injuries or displacements. ⬇️

#LCFR is on scene of a large brush fire in the 21100 blk of Steptoe Hill Rd. in Middleburg. As of now, the fire is contained & no structures affected. No injuries reported. Crews remain on scene extinguishing hot spots & the Va. Dept. of Forestry is en route to assist with tree removal.

Members of #LCFR Special Ops Division participated in the Virginia Dept. of Fire Programs Tower Rescue Ops course hosted in Prince William Co. The class started with a lecture & discussion, followed by practicing various skills. On the last day, students participated in a rescue scenario.

Last week, the Sons of the American Revolution presented Battalion Chief Daniel Neal with the Fire Safety Commendation Award! Since 2020, Chief Neal has served as the fire/rescue leader of the Loudoun Co. High Threat Team. Congrats, Chief Neal! 🥳

A house fire in the 500 blk of N. Fillmore Ave. left four occupants displaced & resulted in damages estimated at $270,336. LCFR-FMO determined the fire was accidental, due to an electrical event in a first-floor bedroom’s outlets. No injuries reported. ➡️ bit.ly/49nUotc

Around 9:15 p.m. last night, crews responded to multiple reports of a chicken coop & shed fire along Snickersville Tpke in Bluemont. Crews extinguished the fire, preventing it from spreading. Fortunately, no reported injuries. Sadly, several chickens were killed during the incident. ⬇️

The LCFR-FMO has determined Saturday’s fire in the 13000 blk of Loyalty Rd. was accidental, caused by an unspecified electrical event in an electrical power distribution panel within the structure. Damages are estimated at approx. $2.7 million. DETAILS: bit.ly/4ps734b

At approximately 3:35 a.m., #LCFR was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 13000 block of Loyalty Rd. Crews arrived on scene and found a roughly 100x150 foot metal building well involved in fire. No reported injuries. The LCFR-FMO is on scene investigating.
