not impressive at all. western academia has always been like this. the only reason there is any freedom in western societies is the incapability of avarage westerners to stand up for their rights, and the bigotry. the things that spark protests in turkey, like x

Impressive how the US academia is becoming like the Turkish academia from ten years ago. I don't know if everyone realizes the implications of these dismissals.
