This isn’t news or novel. Loads of us hate social media. But “the powers that be” decided this is really important when it so clearly is just kids yelling across the playground at each other. This is the level of discourse we have been reduced to. And its why Star Wars won’t take risks.

The “problem”, if I may, is a thing that has afflicted loads of people. It is this: thinking “social media” matters. Ironic saying it here eh? But really people saying shit and treating like Important News is it. Remember when Twitter came out and the news got lazy and just reported about tweets??

I think its more due to the finite nature of our planet. We have a fixed amount of resources— not enough falls from the sky to replace what we use and as our population grows that accelerates.

I would quibble that the pre-req is scarcity of resources, and that Y-o-Y growth is whats used to make people who can never have enough feel like maybe they’re close to having enough. But the wealthy cannot be sated. They have a hoarding disorder that we call “greed”.
