I was already really impressed with Wonder Man, but then it got "used Tangerine Dream as part of the score" good. Such a shame this show seems to be suffering from general Marvel malaise.

Neil wanted a quiet one on @moonbuilding.bsky.social this week, which is why he asked me to review @confluxcoldwell.bsky.social new record 'Shadows And Simulacra', which was made in part with generative AI. It was great fun to write, knowing the strong feelings people have about this tech.

Been playing a lot of Prime 4 on Switch 2 recently and I can't get over how lovely it looks. Not sure if these screenshots do it justice.

Calling transphobia a 'gateway drug' to the far right undersells it. It's pure accelerant. Grimly fascinating to guess what crankery becomes any famous transphobe's secondary obsession, cos they all have one: 15 minute cities are fascism! Grok noncing is cool! ICE are good! We should kill all dogs!

Sorry but with everything else going on in the world at the moment, you can't expect me to care about anything related to Andy Burnham.

Absolutely can't stop laughing at this.

I've been rewatching Superstore as a comfort programme, and have just reached the last series that's set (and filmed) during the pandemic. It is intensely surreal and despite this being a thing that everyone lived through, it feels like an event that happened in a pocket parallel universe.

the perennial "is this a good replacement for twitter / can it become as big as twitter" discussion is so confused. hominids became bipedal about 7 million years ago. for most of the time since we did not have microblogging. it's not a necessity it's a habit, if it all goes away that's fine

Mad that anyone would feel nostalgic for 2016 when it was the year the world started its descent into chaos, but I'm observing a weird phenomena where it feels like folk are trying to make it seem longer ago than it was.
