that's the same BS as responding to someone's burnout in a toxic workplace with "have you tried meditating?"
because, no, "nature" doesn't work the same as Ritalin for my ADHD brain. I will still need access to medication, not hugging a tree.
“Exposure to nature can lower our blood pressure, slash the risk of diabetes, improve our mental health & treat ADHD in a way that’s similar to a dose of Ritalin,” @olliemilman.bsky.social writes.

What could it do on a larger scale for society as a whole?

Society Needs A Doctor’s Prescription For Nature | NOEMA
Long treated as a backdrop to human life, the trees, babbling streams and rolling hills of the natural world could actually help repair society’s fraying social fabric.

not entirely sure how to take this, but it seems like that the less I work, the better I'm doing in my career?

Palm trees. Sky. Clouds. Pictures were taking while wearing shorts and a t-shirt. Maybe I'll just live here now forever*. I could become a member of the wrinkly colony, as my boyfriend calls it.

I'm probably missing something, but I grew up drinking raw milk from the next door neighbor's cows? Sometimes I did the milking myself? What's so dangerous about it?
You lose? You and your children die terribly and painfully

You win? You drink some milk

WEIRD THING TO GAMBLE UR KIDS' LIVES ON, HUH
JFC folks drinking raw milk is Russian roulette except only one chamber is empty. You might as well drink wood alcohol. DON'T DO IT.

I'm just hoping for someone to say this in my presence... "what do you think 'society' should do, exactly? ... please, give me a concrete example of what that would look like..."
as long as they are allowed to stick to vague shit, they can pretend it's not like Handmaid's Tale they're proposing
📢 “A huge amount of men between the age of 15 and 50 will not pass on their genes. They will effectively die out of the gene pool ... Should society intervene?” Steven Bartlett asked last year.

I don't even like speaking with living family members, why the hell would add a dead one?!

I accidentally listened to a recording of my voice, and surprisingly, I didn't feel immediate revulsion, it was almost bearable. (The voice, what I was saying was obviously idiotic.)

looking for book recommendations: non-fiction, written by a woman.

I like history, economics, linguistics, anthropology, politics, essays, books about obscure subjects that shine a light on a broader context from the vantage point of something small.

suggestions?

question for the #AuDHD bubble: do you use a fidget toy? if so, what is it? what do you like about it?

how I can tell that today is a bad executive function day and the #AuDHD is in full swing:
To get a tax refund of a few thousand ££, I need to prove my identity. For this, I would need to get my passport. Which is in the other room.

...tomorrow is a good day to claim this money.

it is quite funny that every single time I get to have exposure to sunshine and warmth during winter, the first few days are spent in a frenzy of "OMG I need to spend as much time as possible in the sun" even if I have another 13 days of this to go.
