Voted Labour all my long life. Had many political "discussions" as a Leftie living in Torytown but I really don't feel I can argue Labour's case anymore. Politics on both sides of the pond is so depressing and exhausting 😩

Fartrage is a political anarchist; a proven racist, antisemitic bigot; a control freak; a financial grifter; work shy as an MP … and wants to be a dictator like his role models Putin and Trump … but ODIOUS sums him up nicely.

Exactly what I came here to say. He has to always be the hero of the story, even though he never is.

I'm an optimist by nature. I truly believe that Reform will implode before the next GE as their bigotry, grifting and incompetence gets more exposure. It's easy for a party to be popular if they have no record but as they gain more councils, people can see it's all lies and bluster.

Add to that absolutely nothing to stop any pervert or murderer dressing up in camo gear, pretending to be ICE and abducting women and children. As there seem to be people who have disappeared, with their families unable to find them, I'm sure it's already happening.

When are the BBC going to realise how truly awful their political "journalists" are. People are switching off from BBC news in their droves. If they switch off from BBC news not only will they be in the hands of other even less trustworthy news outlets, they will switch off from the BBC altogether!

Instead of the binary question of "Is the PM doing a good or bad job" maybe they should add "Is the PM doing an okay job"? I'm Labour to my bones but I couldn't say Starmer has got everything right - he hasn't got everything wrong either. We need a little more nuance in our politics.

It's such a shame their leader is just a populist

I don't talk politics with the righty, he would disagree with everything I said just because I said it 😂 He's always been an awkward sod but I love him anyway.

I gathered from your handle you lived in Essex 😂 "Got to try" - you try every day, thank you for the daily (if not hourly) updates.

I would have to disagree - my right leaning son thinks I have Trump Derangement Syndrome and there are too many immigrants in the UK (although he's not a racist) because he believes what he sees online - and he's not stupid, just misinformed.

I have one left leaning son and one right - both brought up in the same way 🙄

If you spelt it the British way instead of American it wouldn't have corrected it.

I wish I shared your optimism but living in Essex it's so hard. Glancing through Neighbourhood this morning was like reading through the Reform playbook. It was when someone said they were voting Reform because what did they have to lose I cracked and told them exactly what they had to lose.

I think the role should be split. She might be doing a good job on Culture and Sport but she's not doing enough to reform media. Why do foreign billionaires who don't pay tax in this country own our press? It shouldn't be allowed.

Sainsbury's stock Ineos products. Everyone should flood Sainsbury's with complaints. I know I will.

Andy Burnham promised the people of Manchester that he would serve his full term. By trying to run for MP all he did was damage his own party. He's a great mayor, he should stick to what he's good at.

Even that was fake - according to the homeowner the posters were photoshopped onto their windows

When will people realise that the problems in this country are caused by the super rich not immigrants?

Ed Milliband should step up when the time is right. He is an intelligent, thoughtful, principled man who just happens to eat a bacon sandwich messily. Andy Burnham cares more for his career than his party.

How about believing the victims!

Listened to R4Today this morning. JHC what a borefest. On & on & on abt Keir Starmer's future. He made a mistake, we don't know how big a mistake until the report comes out so the BBC should stop wanging on about it. A good leader learns from their mistakes so let's give him the chance to do that.

I once had such high hopes for Lisa Nandy as a future leader but she has been so ineffectual on press reform. There is so much a majority government could do to rein in the RW press but they've done none of it.

Reform having the wrong take on an issue again - colour me shocked 😯

Yes sorry, should have put terrified in "" marks.
