Still watching season 4 of GX, but there's an interesting line put in the last episode of season 3 (not aired outside of Japan, so I'm lumping it with season 4). Principal Shepard mentions that Duel Academy was built not just as a school, but to further solve the mysteries of the Duel Monsters (+)
Welp, done with the English dub of Yugioh GX. It's interesting to me because while I haven't seen the sub (except season 4), the original makes it much clearer that Yubel does not hate or seek revenge against Jaden, they love him. But being sent away and being exposed to the Light of Destruction,(+)
Almost done with season 3, and it is really telling how much of a compelling story there is here that unfortunately is lessened by the pacing of season 3 and the series as a whole. GX, even in the Japanese, is divided into 3 distinct seasons of about 52 episodes apiece (plus the JP only season 4,(+)

Hmm, you know, I might actually have an idea for scripting out how the post-Battle City duel between Yugi and Joey (where Joey gets back Red-Eyes would go). I'd probably still have Joey lose so Yugi stays the King of Games, but still.
Of course, for fanfiction, I could go the angle of writing something based off lore of the cards themselves rather than people playing the game. Only now are we getting some of the lore that was previously exclusively released in Japanese guidebooks with no official translations thanks (+)
Man, all this Yugioh talk has me wanting to do Yugioh art. Unfortunately, a lot of the cards and characters are complex enough for me to be intimidated to draw, and for writing fanfics, I would likely need to write out actual duels which is also daunting.

So… good news and bad news.
The good news is that I got a new laptop today.
The bad news is that it turned out to be defective and it won’t turn on.
I’m gonna have to make more money so I can buy a proper model. I’m looking to get one with at least two USB Type A ports and a good graphics card.

On season 3 of GX. And where I'm really noticing the weaknesses of the series. There's A LOT of padding, particularly in the first two seasons. Most of GX featured single episode duels, sometimes even against the main antagonists of the arcs, and as a result that left a lot of duels that (+)
And on the Kaibaman episode, where I realize Jaden learns the same lesson twice in the series. But seeing as how Kaibaman's teaching strategy is to potentially traumatize Jaden even further, it might not count.
Still going through, and just finished the episode with the Gravekeeper's in the Duel Monster Spirit World. I feel a weakness GX had was not bringing them back ever, even as the plot did more stuff with the Spirit World.

Because like the first Sonic movie, I'm expecting a trainwreck.
Then again, it pleasantly surprised me, so who knows MCU, maybe you can make magic again.
