I am a scouse chronically ill film buff with a healthy love for Midsomer Murders. I skeet along to the things I watch. I'm also on Mastodon but over there is very very quiet on my feed so here I am.

If it was a drinking game where you had a drink everytime there was a reference to the Beatles or a Beatles song was on a soundtrack, I don't think you'd go many days without having to drink at least once.
I *am" that annoying person who hears the name of a film and then tells you what other film did the plot better.
Sorry.

Ahah
"We survived without streaming we can survive without it again"
My dearest internet stranger, I survived by buying boxsets. I survived by rotating 4 films for a whole year and watching every single commentary available on the DVD.
I survived by taking advantage of play dot cons penny sales.

We are on to week 4. I need a new crush of the week, stat, because I am genuinely out of watchable things to watch and in "obsessive rewatch" territory if I don't control myself. I am blaming the ADHD
Annoyingly Crush of the Week is now on the 3rd week and he does not have the filmography to support the amount of mental bandwidth he is taking up.

I've moved on to Fantastic Four: First Steps.
Dear God let this be better than the failed franchise starter from ten years ago.

I'm watching a Christmas film with my father. It's called Hot Frosty.
I was not expecting a naked man.
Also he's just gone through a glass window and in real life he'd be cut to ribbons. Um.... There would be glass...

I am watching Cellular. Yes, again.
November 15, 2025 at 1:06 PM
Okay. I need a film where nobody dies.
November 14, 2025 at 3:55 PM
I'm finally watching Tick Tick Boom.
Or I would be, if everytime I press play I wasn't interrupted. #TickTickBoom

I also really need film buddies to interact with. It's more lonely than usual in chronic illness world, this time of the year.

I either need to watch something Amazingly good, or really enjoyable rubbish. I have had a Day.
Example of amazingly good - Master and Commander.
Example of Enjoyable Rubbish - The Christmas Cure.
Something in between - Cellular.

I wish the last 2 Star Wars movies were as good as The Force Awakens. I hate how it all ended. We could have had something perfect but no, we got that incell-romantification shit fest instead.
November 13, 2025 at 1:10 AM
In watching Sydney White which reminds me of an Emma Stone film.
November 12, 2025 at 7:18 PM
I've just realised. Jack Black has been in two films with Joan Cusack. High Fidelity, with John Cusack, and then School of Rock.

I'm watching Gran Turismo. I wasn't expecting Ginger Spice! #GranTurismo

Let's try that again - somewhere on the internet, maybe not here, I made an emphatic plea for my crush of the week to be the boyfriend to be in a hallmark style Christmas movie. It didn't happen.
And now, here I am, making the same emphatic plea.... But the crush of the week is different. Oh well.

I am now watching Chef.
November 7, 2025 at 8:37 PM
I went through a slump a few months ago where I didn't really enjoy what I was watching, and these were newish, and/or blockbusters. Then I watched Cellular, which is a chaotic action thriller movie with Chris Evans and Jason Statham from 2004 and it was the best thing I'd watched in a long time.
One thing that’s kind of nice about so many new movies being bad is you can watch older mid-movies and they feel solid by comparison. Rewatched Phantom Menace and honestly, not bad

Right, watching Wicked at last.
November 2, 2025 at 7:30 PM
Now watching The Vault.
