On the 17th of January, 1961, the US, UK and Belgium assassinated Patrice Lumumba, the first democratically elected leader of the Republic of Congo, because he sought to restore national control over the country's mineral reserves. Remember Lumumba!

Such a crazy days.
On one hand, I don't care who gets the Nobel Peace Prize and I respect Sartre for refusing it, but on the other I support that "once a Nobel Prize is announced, it cannot be revoked, shared, or transferred to others".

What will he ask for next? Olympic medal for breakdancing?

Manfred Weber is exactly that kind of German who would in 30s allow the rise of Nazism, and then be so shocked to hear about gas chambers.
The EU’s centrist powers need to move to the right to reflect the new political reality, the leader of the European People’s Party Manfred Weber has told in an exclusive interview with POLITICO.
Europe shifted right — it’s time centrists do too, says Manfred Weber
EPP chief says he still wants to work with traditional allies, but they need to adapt.
