Ward Sakeik was detained after flying back from her honeymoon.

Born as a Palestinian refugee in Saudi Arabia, she was considered as stateless when she was brought to the U.S. as a child.

Recently released from ICE detention, she continues to advocate for those still imprisoned.

Update about Pedro Lorenzo Concepción's hunger strike:

After 17(!!) days without food, Pedro ended his strike in exchange for not being deported. Ultimately, independent media kept attention on the story and forced his demands to be heard, even where major news outlets were silent.

Today marks the fifteenth day of Pedro Lorenzo Concepción's hunger strike. Despite the pleas of his doctors, his actions are meant to draw attention to the deplorable conditions in which he and his fellow inmates are being held.

ICE denies any hunger strike is occurring.

Absolutely devastating. A young man who will live his entire life in the shadow of unspeakable cruelty.

All the same, we rejoice for even the smallest of victories. Merwil is back in Venezuela. We are grateful that he survived his ordeal in CECOT, and we hope for him to find comfort and healing.
Merwil Gutierrez Flores, (20)-

Not the man they were looking for, but one ICE officer said, 'Take him anyway.'

"
He tells me that he was asking God every day for him to give strength to us family members,” Wilmer Gutièrrez said, “and to give him strength to continue standing.”

Happy Friday!

Another great banner drop in Falls Church today! We tried something new and put out some chalk messages as a longer lasting way to spread motivation.

Looking for something to do in your own neighborhood? Consider chalking. Small acts of resistance go a long way. ❤️

The shame of our country over their direct role and responsibility for this travesty can never be erased.

There must be accountability and justice for these men who were illegally and intentionally sent to CECOT

After his brother was killed by the Taliban as retribution for service with the American forces, Sayed Naser Noori knew that he needed to flee his home country.

Using the CBP One program, he entered the U.S. legally in 2024. ICE is now seeking to fast-track his deportation.

Despite being on a valid visa, Carlos Martín González was sent to the Everglades concentration camp.

He is there with his brother Alejandro, who had come to bring documentation when Carlos was stopped by a state trooper.

Mexico has repeatedly asked for their repatriation.

Jordin Melgar-Salmeron is an El Salvadoran who was sent to CECOT after sending him was barred by the court. The US admitted their *error*, defied orders to facilitate his release, said they could not find him and then did (in CECOT)

When this comes to justice someday, we won't forget what was done to these men.
There must be justice for these men.
Although there is relief that they were rescued- there is outrage, a deep sense of shame, and grief about what the US did. Knowing they were not criminals lying about them, denying their rights, sending them to a torture prison.

In light of the long-awaited release of the men from CECOT, our page will be rebranding over the next few days.

We will still continue our campaign of advocacy and awareness, but we're now setting our sights closer to home: individuals detained in ICE concentration camps.

While reports are still being compiled, it appears that we do have movement on the CECOT front.

Many reputable news sources are reporting a prisoner exchange between the Salvadoran and Venezuelan governments. Among others, the exchange purportedly includes the Venezuelans imprisoned in CECOT.
