I think a lot of vested interests are trying to defend the shutdown's current course but it is indefensible.
Sure, they should get the ACA subsidies back. But they really need to put a stop to all of this and it is wild, no one is calling for Trump's removal as a precondition.

The Army Corps of Engineers projects in NYC are the ones keeping the city from being swallowed by the next hurricane while repairing the damage from Sandy, FYI.
NEW: White House announces it's going to pause, and potentially cancel, $11 billion in infrastructure funding (via the Army Corps of Engineers), specifically citing cities, like New York, represented or led by Democrats. More to come.
