I make stained glass sculptures (mostly of birds, sometimes other things), and I have space for a little commission work this winter. Shipping worldwide (slightly depending on size!)
Yesterday I was reminded of this #art piece I was commissioned to make a few years ago, extending the boundaries of stained #glass by setting Little Grebes (aquatic #bird species) in an open-edge panel to represent the habitat where they are most free…
Should I make more like this?

A joyful moment that never gets old: someone loves my Godwit enough to offer the ultimate accolade to an artist - to take it home!
#art is a piece of soul made visible, in metal and stone and #glass. Welcome to my heart-family, unknown friend- and enjoy the effects of light on the glass…

If you love #glassart or #birds or are already following my #art (hi and I love you) the SWLA @ Mall galleries opens next week, and my Black-tailed Godwit #sculpture will be there - online preview (sculpture page - scroll down for the Godwit!) here buyart.mallgalleries.org.uk/swla-2025/?_...

Birds in stained glass, freestanding #art or wall sculptures, rarely window panels. My birds are celebrations, explanations, rants and sometimes tears; but like the birds that inspire them, they are all beautiful dancers-with-light…

A few more pictures of “We Were Angels”, just because…

Latest kinetic sculpture “We Were Angels” available to buy or exhibit - I love it in my home, but it seems selfish not to offer others the chance to enjoy the light glowing from these birds…

Current WIP and a previous super-seabird for #superseabirdsunday

Some pieces come together quickly, and some take a few iterations to grow to maturity. The Herring Gulls piece, “We Were Angels”, gathers towards its finale; glowing with a little sunlight as I adjust the hanging points and sight lines to make sure they balance each other.

As the Yule (star)dust begins to settle, tomorrow will be a good day to get back into my studio and pick up my stained glass #WIP ‘Urban Angels’ once more. They are still burning in my head and heart and hands, not quite fully materialised just yet…

Someone needs to invent some kind of online calculator whereby we Brits can put in our recent healthcare appointments/meds/experiences and it’ll calculate what it would cost on average in the USA. Just to hammer home how bloody lucky we are to have the NHS and how fiercely we need to protect it.

It’s #wrensday and I am in my happy place (the ordered chaos of a #glass studio with -erm- about 3 pieces in development..!). Here’s a contribution to the day (blank greetings cards available!)

This stained glass Black-tailed Godwit on a carved slate stand is available. He stands 45cm/18” tall (& just a little more than that toes-to-bill-tip).
This pattern will be a numbered edition of 10 (although every #bird is always unique because #glass).
DM for price and shipping options.

This sphagnum sink is now heading into its second winter, and I so love the way the mosses change from green to deep maroon as the year chills…

In true multitasking style, this weekend involved a lovely long rustling walk (beech leaves and Brambling), design work on a Herring Gull piece, forward planning for a Goshawk piece, design work on an Orchidarium (so I can grow some high-humidity miniature lovelies) and cheesecake. Keto cheesecake.
