We had tape drives and a 3 tape backup rotation at home in the 90’s. How do more companies not have a tiny bit of this mentality now?

“The cloud” is not a magical infallible thing. And worse when you don’t have access to any physical hardware if you want to attempt recovery, data gone is data gone.
