We are a faith-based community center in Washington DC dedicated to building movements for justice
Pinned
We are a faith-based nonprofit community center. Our faith drives our passion to fight for the rights, not of one group against another, but for all. This is what evangelical Republicans do not understand. Until injustice against one is considered injustice against all injustice will prevail
We are promised peace through the presence of our military, but Advent reminds us peace is not found through force, but rather, linking ourselves with the most vulnerable in actions of solidarity.

Military bases are promised to bring peace, but they bring anything but peace. This Christmas we are reminded that peace comes through unexpected means.

We had a powerful showing last week to remind the DC Council that the unholy Alliance between ICE and DC Police MUST end. We are deeply grateful for the powerful words of Rev. William Young, a true leader in DC!

DC Council must stand up to protect our city from violent federal agents, ICE intrusion and oppressive law enforcement tactics by our own Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).

Today is Giving Tuesday and we've decided to pay it forward. Instead of donating to us, we're asking you to share your gifts with ROC-DC. They could not be doing better work in our community.

IT'S CHRISTMAS! Ok, just the Christmas season, but you know what we mean... Time for Carols and Cocoa! There's no snow (yet) but that just means our voices may carry farther. Will you join us this Wednesday? See you then!

The sadness of fall fading away and giving way to winter reminds us that no season lasts forever. And given our current political climate, that is a good reminder to have.

Though the beauty of fall lasts for so short a time, it reminds us that no season lasts forever.

I have seen this kind of poor leadership up close and personal. Indeed, we keep us safe.
Whether it's the 8 Democratic Senators who caved to Republican leadership or United Methodist bishops who gave themselves a raise in the midst of hardship for others, poor leadership for progressives is hardly surprising.

I had a dream that I was on a subway with Pete Hegseth and I kept saying to him, over and over again the same line and for whatever reason (it was a dream) he could not respond. The line I kept saying was, "Diversity is our greatest strength." Yes, there is a reason I woke up in the best mood.
