Progress in fixing my ability system to work better with #Godot nodes is going good. Slow, careful, but good. I've taken to journaling my coding changes, so that I have notes when I lose my place in the project. It feels weird keeping those notes in a physical journal, but it really helps. #indiedev

Dear two-months-ago-me: #Godot 's Resources and Nodes have reasons for being different things, and if you don't want all your Fireballs to store their targets in to a group hive mind array, you should probably not over-use the resource system... #indiedev #fails

I'm pretty sure the only way I'm making any #indiedev progress this year is if I make Monster Hunter: Wilds my reward for hitting playable on my first #Godot project. Otherwise I'm gonna be writing all my code in very garish, unsustainably sourced, gorgeous monster armor... in like a year.

I'm behind on my Facebook Exodus- was hoping to be completely off platform at end of February, but I just had a little too much going on. Also, converting all of my contacts in to Signal and Discord friends has been a little longer than I thought. Still, pulled all my data and secured it at least!

#indiedev #gamedev Finally got my ability system's structure working properly! This also includes the health and stat system I put together. Making the code modular and extensible definitely made this more complicated, but I can't wait to see what I can do with this system I've built for myself.

I'm inching forward on the #Godot framework I'm building! Right now my focus is the modular ability system- I scripted my first effect, and I'm working on the targeter system. Those are the two halves that allow for this system to be the underlying engine for like, any of the 2D games I want to make

So I'm working on my first #godot game, which I'm pitching as a pet catching #streaming community engagement game. The idea is streamers can run this game on the bottom portion of their stream, and their fans can adopt pets. The twist is the game regularly does "events" where the cute pets compete.

I'm grappling with quitting Facebook. Ever since their rules got changed to allow users to call trans and gay folx mentally ill, I just can't look at it the same way. It was an intentional choice to allow Trump and his lackeys to bully a vulnerable population that is already dealing with too much.

The hardest part of #programming for my brain is pausing dev on features, and documenting my progress. I think a lot of my projects failed because I went past my ability to handle complexity without reference. I hope taming the ADHD long enough to keep notes will give much better results. #gamedev

I love #pixelart for the instant gratification. I spend 4 to 5 hours per piece, and I've got an art. #Gamedev on the other hand... I spent 5 hours building the structure of an abstract module that's one aspect of the overall framework that will, in months, generate something I can screenshot. xD
