My sense is that - despite having 15 parties - Dutch politics is much like in the rest of Europe: the main divide is now bw. pro-European liberals & right-wing populists. In recent years, you have had the same in France, Poland, even Hungary...

Two truths about Dutch politics a few days ahead of elections

1. 5 parties poll bw. 10 and 20%: green-left, left lib, right lib, Chr dem, far right. The entire spectrum.

2. Far right and far right-leaning parties (notably the right libs) have close to 50%. Crazy, esp. if you keep point 1 in mind.
