On the cusp of broad change the best of you needed, a concession was made. It benefited the standard's mold's moderates more, if they let it, and it also let their wailing brethren go back to their smaller plots of feudalism that won't ever be enough.

Savage Dragon can do things like have ICE acting like ICE and being horrible because it's not owned by something working closely with the CIA, the FBI, or the Army. Or, Warner Bros and Disney. A lot of indie comics could, really, but props to Erik Larsen for doing it.
