Next up on the FTN calendar... yes, we know we are spoiling you with such excellent speakers: this week it was Dr Holly Morse and next month we have Dr Amey Victoria Adkins-Jones. Make sure Wednesday 19th November goes in your diary!

I’m honoured to be a guest on the fantastic Dr Selina Stone’s #podcast ‘Sunday School for Misfits’ this week. This season of the podcast is on power, and we had a lot to talk about when it comes to #disability, #neurodivergence and power in churches and #theology.

The FTN is saddened to learn of the death of Phyllis Trible - one of the great pioneers of work in feminist theology. She will be greatly missed, but her indelible influence lives on.

"May she rest in peace and glory."

I think this is good news.

Ymmv, but in my limited dealings with +Sarah I have found her to be thoughtful, faithful and very deeply human. Not perfect, of course. But we could do much worse.

And guess what? Turns out "you can't appoint a woman, it'll be too divisive" is sexist nonsense, as always.

I want to live in a world where leaders can

- change their position following research and reflection

- admit they don't know something but be willing to find out

A world where entrenched positions are expected, and where leaders bluff out of fear of admitting they don't know, is a dangerous one

Here’s my heads up: if you’re intending on submitting a PhD proposal with the hope of funding, in the UK that’s usually due around Christmas….

Now (not a week before the deadline) is when to start having those conversations with potential supervisors! It’s not too soon!

Tonight at 7:30pm BST for our UK members/11:30am PT or 2:30pm ET for those in the US.
Next week is going to be awesome. Please note that Cultivating a Feminist Preaching Imagination will be at 7:30pm BST and not 7pm.
