I've just watched @bernardokastrup.bsky.social and Francis Lucille chatting on YT. Great video! Nice to know one more person to follow who's interested in consciousness, peace/contentment, and maybe even (gasp) happiness 😁

There are many details to refine when building a UI.

Should this click take the user to a modal or to a new page?
Should a specific ‘save’ action redirect the user or stay on the same page?
Where does optimistic UI make sense?

These compound over time to make the product great 😉 #buildinpublic

Writing docs is a great way to remember everything the product does 😁

Do you use Heroku? I'd appreciate your help with my alpha add-on number of installs 😁

I'm building a Heroku add-on for Flashboard, at 12/15 installs to go to beta.

It would be a great help if you'd be willing to install my add-on on an app 😄

Send a DM and I'll invite you!

No time to work today... Moving, part ?? of ??: wrapping up.

Now you can reorder your tabs on Flashboard. Simply click and drag. You can group them to make your work easier.

You’ll have faster access to the tab on the top, since it opens when you go to your panel.

We are making many improvements big and small, stay tuned!

The list of hosted DBs and app generators with DBs to try out is increasing... Just this week, I learned about Prisma Postgres and Create (with @neondatabase). #buildinpublic

Once you launch your product, you'll need to manage your data.

There are three things you'll need to do:

I found a bug yesterday while building a test admin panel on Flashboard. I set up @supabase.com auth - it was v. easy with Lovable. The db stores its users in `auth.users`, and the panel only read the `public` namespace. It's fixed, now we support foreign keys from distinct schemas 😉 #buildinpublic

What else should I follow to exchange experiences with early stage founders, indie hackers, bootstrapers and microsaas people besides #buildinpublic?

What other AI tools build apps and setup an online database for you? So far I've seen Replit (Neon), Lovable (Supabase), Bolt (Supabase). V0 doesn't have DBs AFAIK. Cursor can probably help but you'd need to host it somewhere.

Day of taking print screens and writing documentation. Nothing shiny, but important :)

If you're building your first apps, take care of your database connection URL: Be sure to hide it when recording your screen. Only use it on trusted software. Do not copy-paste it around; if you really need to share it, use secure sharing apps such as 1password or similar ones.

How to disable a link in React Router 7 / Remix

A simple solution is to use a ternary to render either the Link or a disabled button styled to look identical. You can abstract it into a reusable component. I've used this pattern at Seasoned many times 😁

Thinking about leaving IT?
I’ve spoken with several people who aren’t sure how much longer they can handle working in IT.
Most common experiences:
• stress
• burnout
• the day-to-day chaos
• conflicts
• impostor syndrome
• isolation
• shame
• feeling like they’re the only one going through this
