These new patterns were created at the request of my friend @kirstylunn.bsky.social (founder of @molkeofficial.bsky.social) who is disabled and a disability advocate. They came from conversations around about bodies that don’t behave predictably and language that people still treat as uncomfortable.

Turns out finished cross stitch pieces don’t magically wash, iron and frame themselves! Rude!

I have a stack of finished pieces that have been waiting for me to roll up my sleeves and deal with them, and today is that day.

Do you wash and frame straight away, or do you also have a doom pile?

It’s not perfect, but it was fun to do!

I tried a variation on the laced back hoop finish. I can never decide the best way to finish the back, so some of my projects have laced backs, some have felt, some are hot glued… all a bit chaotic! How do you finish the backs of your hoops?
