We cannot allow this to stand anymore! We have prepared a petition calling for a boycott of the next ISPP 2026 conference in Newcastle, UK, unless the Executive Committee resigns or responds to our concerns. Please read and sign the petition here: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...

Academics: In non-facism or genocide related news, the Alaska Summit card gives 3x on foreign transactions. And guess what, Prolific purchases are a foreign transaction.

Alaska Airlines is great for both AA and Alaska air flights.

How do folks deal with skew from programs like LIWC? I'm getting skews in the range of 3 to 6 and I don't think a log transformation makes sense, but would love to hear what you do!

Question for those of you who study realistic/symbolic threat in intergroup/immigrant contexts: In stephan, ybarra, bachman 1999 are realistic and symbolic threat scales mislabeled in the appendix? Has anyone else run into this question?

Thank you!

The people who lost children and other loved ones in the Texas floods are owed honest answers from officials. They should be told why flash flood warnings issued hours earlier were not conveyed to people in the path of the water. They don’t need more prayers from politicians. They need answers.

Cheers to @feadeh.bsky.social for sending me some of his own roasted coffee beans to try on pour over, all the way from Seattle! A true transcontinental coffee collaboration, from someone I've known going back to grad school. A wonderful treat to close the week ☕

At one point she recalls her son—who she tried shielding from it all—overhearing what happened as she spoke to lawyers. He quietly approached, hugged her, and said "Inshallah my father will come soon."

They stole her parents
The 16-year-old was dragged away and arrested by Worcester PD because she kicked the car ICE was holding her mother in as her mom was taken away. The day earlier, ICE had taken her dad as well.
"She told MassLive that she, along with a crowd of other people, asked ICE to show a warrant for the arrest. She said the agents replied, 'We don’t have to show you anything.'" www.masslive.com/worcester/20...

Despite knowing the people on the search warrant weren't there, the ICE arrest team STILL took this family's phones, laptops, and life savings — and refused to leave a BUSINESS CARD so they could ask to get it back!

This stuff is sadly not unique to ICE; it happens with regular police raids too.
