You'd be surprised, but one of the challenges Monarch Butterflies (Danaus plexippus) face, in addition to the ~4800km long journey, is vehicle collisions. Researchers from Texas A&M developed a project to help reduce Monarch deaths. 1/2

Did you know Sea Otters (Enhydra lutris) almost went extinct during the 19th Century? They were overhunted for their fur, which tremendously decreased their population to only a few thousand. The International Fur Seal Treaty of 1911, however, finally established protections. 1/3

Daily Fact: An Ostrich's brain is smaller than their eyes, roughly the size of a walnut. Interestingly enough, Ostriches have the largest eyes of any land mammal, capable of seeing over 3km away... That's pretty crazy.

AI-generated content of wildlife is becoming more prominent nowadays. It's unfortunate, as a very special moment caught on camera may not even be real. It can diminish the work of photographers, graphic designers, and others who care about wildlife.

A pink morph of the Robust Grasshopper (Sigaus robustus) was spotted in New Zealand. This isn't a new species but a mutation known as Erythrism. It would be very cool if the mutation were passed down and created a population of pink grasshoppers 👀.
