Taking what is probably my last-ever trip on the LIRR and somebody poured absolutely an entire large hazelnut coffee all over every possible inch of the floor of this train car. Watching everybody doing duck waddles trying to get through to a seat without becoming coated in it. Delightful. Stunning.

My mom was the one who put me on to the Beastie Boys - she grew up in NYC at the same time they came up, and they had a big influence on her. She died shortly before MCA did, and I said that it was just as well, because she wouldn’t want to live in a world without the Beasties - only kind of a joke.

Beastie Boys’ 2004 “To The 5 Boroughs” is largely a criticism of Bush-era political garbage, and I love it with all my heart, but listening to it now is making me so sad about where we are today. Anyway, MCA forever 🩷

I am so, so grateful to have been a kid in school before chromebooks/laptops were a thing, let alone a requirement; I remember teachers beginning projects by asking, show of hands, how many of you have internet access at home? to plan computer lab time.

In researching life in the town I’m about to be moving to, I’ve found out that there’s an official LFC supporters chapter that meets up like 20 minutes from my new place - but they seem to coordinate exclusively via Facebook 😭

Choosing movies to watch tonight and thinking about how poetic it is that Takashi Miike made ‘Audition,’ a fucked up torture movie that makes me wanna barf, ‘One Missed Call,’ one of my all-time favorite slightly goofy gems, and the live-action Gyakuten Saiban. Truly a man who contains multitudes.

I haven’t really watched or minded about baseball since around 2001 so I have no stakes in this World Series but it’s been fun to watch and talk about this year! I guess that based purely on my geographical origin I ought to be a Mets fan but we don’t have to talk about that 😂

I actually love sports/team bandwagoners! I get to infodump about my favorite sport & my favorite team & watch someone experience what I love with fresh eyes & it’s fun trying to give them an experience that makes them want to become a part of the community for keeps!
