“Issues like Pakistan’s nuclear and missile programs, its relationship with China, and alleged support for militants are what concern the US…And Khan isn’t particularly useful on any of those fronts.”

Why are Donald Trump’s allies cheering for Pakistan’s Imran Khan?
From Richard Grenell to Matt Gaetz, their comments reflect overseas PTI campaigning for Khan’s release. Will it work?

As I started to this piece, I could not help but recall Shehzad Roy's 2008 song Laga Reh and its intro.

My journalism career started two years later and I often wonder: while so much has changed in the country since then, has anything really, truly changed?

How Pakistan changed in 2024
Violent attacks soared. Political instability grew. Censorship deepened. Economic green shoots, gold medal gave hope.

If you're sitting here looking at people's end-of-the-year book wrap-ups feeling inadequate, I have something to tell you.

I read 7 books this year. Yes, only 7.

I didn't explode, and I'm still a damn good writer.

Shit happens. It's not a contest. 💙📚

It's interesting what Threads has become.

The algo is women saying untrue things about their looks (talking it down): support comes in from women supporting women and a lot og horndogs. Ultimately the ref link to the OnlyFans page is revealed.

Shame, cause it started off a little like BlueSky...

May Khaled Ahmed Sb RIP. Had never met him, but always heard intellectual giants say how in awe they were of his intellect. Hadn't read the books, or followed his serious columns. But religiously kept his Nuggets from the Urdu press, and pieces on Etymology which made language come alive for me.
