This movie is unquestionably my brother’s & my favorite movie. I still remember the day it came out and sitting there watching in awe. One of the movies my friends and I use all the time to reference things.

This movie hit legendary status with my brother and me. We practically played it on a 24 hour loop when we were growing up.
Showdown in Little Tokyo (Mark Lester, 1991)

I live in a very diverse world and I find the echo chamber of Bluesky to be kinda weird. For me, it’s unnatural and strange.

We don’t need people promoting hate, but there’s a middle ground.

A lot of Bluesky is toxic positivity. I’m still trying to figure out how to get a good mix on here.

Marvel releasing a slew of comics that are total reprints of comics from the 80s seems troubling. Nostalgia is fun, but it says concerning things about the state of comics if books from the 80s are doing well enough to justify these reprints increasing.

This is so cool. Women rock.
One year ago, I picked up #Yakuza Kiwami. 500 hours of irreparable brain damage later and armed with a conservatory degree, I have for some reason arranged and recorded 37 karaoke songs, main/substory themes, and bar jazz on solo piano and released them in two volumes totaling 90min. I know the answer to this for me. I look like the 2000s NBA draft with a long coat because I have a long torso and short legs
Will you look like Richard Gere in American Gigolo wearing an oversized Armani suit? Or will you look like Nathan Fielder and the early 2000s NBA draft?

I want to talk about why I picked the books I did.

Miracleman 15 was a book I spent years looking for as a teen and it lived up to the mystique. It asks the question of what it would be like if two super powered beings fought and the answer is extreme brutality and carnage.

I’ve been thinking of the rest of my books for the 20 books that have had an impact on me. I’m trying to go only positive.

nov 9th: your fav villain

I’m not really a villain kind of person, so I’m going to cheat with the supervillain who loves children.

I have now officially run 600 miles this year. My best year before this was 350 miles. It’s honestly been one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself. My breathing, balance, and posture is better than ever.

Just very happy with myself.

I’m going to my first library board meeting next week! I’m super excited!

The people who understand and are in control of municipal budgets are the group I’m trying to infiltrate.

With a few exceptions, I’ve purged my feed here of comic book people. Unless it’s like Golden Age stuff or new literary stuff, I just don’t care. I think I was trying to force myself to be part of a world I no longer wanted to be in. I’m basically turning into Alan Moore 😜

nov 8th: a fictional character you find most relatable

My most relatable is John Crichton from Farscape, this niche sci-fi show from the 90s. He was constantly in over his head and dealt with it by being goofy. He was also an engineer with a personality, which I liked.

hachi (nana komatsu) from nana 🍓

when i was much younger, i was like her: boy crazy/male centered, naive. but she's just a girl! and she is loyal and sweet. just like me 🥹

i always think about my inner hachi when i need to be kind to myself ❤️

YES!! I love that kind of stuff in games! I get way more invested into it than the actual game. I want the love stories!

nov 5th: what is the wildest thing you have done in the sims?

i don't think i have ever done anything super wild, other than make a baby, neglect it until the social worker comes, and then trap them so that they couldnt leave with the baby 🌝

but i am curious as to why we do this shit in the sims😳

Nov 5: What is the wildest thing you have done in the sims?

I don’t think I’ve ever played the sims. It just seems like the game I would lose waaay too many hours in.

november 4th (oops im late): do you like open world games?

i do, however, i tend to feel burnt out after a few hrs playing open world games, and then i dont end up finishing them. nowadays i prefer games like yakuza/like a dragon which have smaller maps that feel like they are full of life 🤭

Nov 3: what will I do for myself this week?

Running has been incredible for me. I breathe better and my body feels so much more limber.

I’m also going to put more time into reading. I just started a book I’m really excited about.

I’m so far behind on these:

Nov 2nd prompt: a book/game/show I enjoyed in Oct

Gotta be honest - Oct was me on the grind with the job hunt and running.

I started playing Shining Force again since it’s really nostalgic for me. There wasn’t a lot of new experiences though.

I’m the old generation of Elder Millenial. I’ll happily watch 8 hour deep dives into anything. But a show is a bridge too far.
