The first time I tried tmux, I was confused and intimidated by all the keyboard shortcuts. I gave it a second chance for my full-stack project, dedicated time to practice, and now I'm hooked. Creating scripts to automate sessions makes my workflow so much faster.

Just discovered Ctrl + U to delete an entire line and Ctrl + W to quickly erase the last word in Bash. So much smoother than mashing backspace.

My calisthenics workout app is making progress! After much grinding, my Turborepo monorepo is configured and running. Time to start developing features.

Consider a programmer looking at code they themselves wrote a year ago, now having to identify and fix a bug. They have to rebuild the mental model of what is going on, which is easier if they have already had a mental model of what is going on.

Just spent three days debugging an EAS Android build in my monorepo. If your mobile app uses pnpm workspaces, expect potential build failures. The fix for me was adding node-linker=hoisted to .npmrc in both the monorepo root and the mobile app's directory. This resolved dependency linking.

Just streamlined my Python development by adding a Makefile. I can't believe I waited so long to use this. My workflow is so much smoother now.

Made the switch from npm to pnpm. Better performance and cleaner node_modules. This feels like a better setup, especially for my upcoming monorepo project.

My focus is on developing real programming expertise. I want to harness AI to work efficiently and, as a result, generate code that is not only high quality but also easily maintainable in the long term.

Rethinking my workout app's backend. The original database wasn't going to scale. Went back to the drawing board and decided on a split: relational DB for exercises, NoSQL for workout logs. Lots of work ahead, but it'll be worth it.

Took some time to review the Python call stack, stack frames, and symbol tables. Really enjoyed getting a more detailed view of what's happening behind the scenes when a program is running. I feel like I've gained some valuable insights.

Made the switch. Moving all project management tasks from Notion to Jira. Notion was getting too messy for active projects, though I'll continue to use it for knowledge bases and documentation. Feeling a bit lighter already. #workflow #jira #notion

I abandoned my Frontend Mentor FAQ Accordion challenge months ago, but decided to give it another go today. My React + Vite code was a bit of a mess, but refactoring it was actually super enjoyable. I'm feeling satisfied with improving my work and seeing my growth as a developer.

Improved the performance of my workout API side project (FastAPI + SQLAlchemy) by solving loading issues with echo=True and analyzing selectinload vs. joinedload.

Just emerged from the nvidia driver installation rabbit hole on Ubuntu. Why is this so complicated? At least it's finally working now.

Finally got Scapy to run! I had to install LaTeX, then libffi-dev, and finally reinstall Python to get it to work. Looking forward to playing with it and sending some packets!

Just completed the last level of OverTheWire Bandit wargame. Definitely need more practice. I'm excited to do another round to reinforce my understanding and skills.

Today, I completed laying the groundwork for my Python Network Scanner project. Just finished setting up the foundation (git, dependencies, file structure). Can't wait to start building the scanning features! #Python #DevJourney

Use to dive in headfirst into projects, but those projects either took
forever or died in my graveyard of unfinished code. Amazing what a
proper goal, scope, and outline can do. #programming #sideproject

Small wins feel huge! Finally nailed async requests using SQLAlchemy
AsyncSession + selectinload - watching that first successful response

I'm excited to begin my Python network scanner project. Just finished some research on different types of network scanners and their role in cybersecurity. Looking forward to using Scapy and leveling up my skills as I build.

Just finished listening to the "Software Architecture with Grady Booch" episode of The Pragmatic Engineer. Great storytelling, deep insights on software development history, and a thought-provoking perspective on LLMs. Inspiring and engaging from start to finish.

After much trial and error, I finally built a Python script to seed and unseed my PostreSQL database with sample data.

Lesson learned: The order of inserting the tables really matters when you have tables with relationships.
