Howard Lutnick’s story about his ties to Epstein keep changing

It went from “I only saw him in 2005” to “I brought my wife, kids and the nanny to his island (yikes)-for an hour in 2012”

This raises more questions. For one thing, they had to schedule the visit and transportation

It will get worse

SWALWELL: How many ICE agents have been fired for their conduct under their leadership?

LYONS: I can get you that data

SWALWELL: Is it more than one?

LYONS: I'm not going to speak about personnel actions

SWALWELL: God, I hope at least one person has been fired. Two people have been killed so far

LYONS: No sir I won't

SWALWELL: Why not?

Q: The rule today would block anti-tariff votes in the future. What's the reasoning for that?

MIKE JOHNSON: The president's trade policies have been a great benefit to the country. It's undisputed. I think the sentiment is we allow a bit more runway for this to be worked out.

Rep. Thanedar asks Lyons and Scott if they think Trump will pardon them and Noem.

Scott: "I don't need a pardon from anybody."

Thanedar: "You better hope so because you will be held accountable for the absolute disregard of the law your agencies have shown over the past year."

Todd Lyons, Trump's ICE chief, is testifying this morning in a House hearing.

Lyons will say in his opening remarks that ICE is somehow the victim of ICE's reign of terror and violence in Minnesota, not the immigrants too traumatized to go outside or the American citizens ICE/CBP have killed.

ICE agents and officers will share buildings with doctors, restaurants, and businesses. They’ll expand existing offices and move in with unrelated government agencies—at 801 Arch Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for example, they’ll share space with the DMV.

How did this happen? And how did this happen so secretly and swiftly? In docs viewed by WIRED, DHS asked GSA explicitly to disregard usual government lease procurement procedures, and even hide lease listings due to “national security concerns.”

ICE plans to lease offices throughout the US as part of a secret, months-long expansion campaign. WIRED is publishing dozens of these locations.

🚨 New: We built a visual tracker of the warehouses ICE is targeting across the US.

Working off an idea from @actualkatherine.bsky.social, we’ve mapped active searches, canceled deals, and linked state property records.

Can now confirm that the warehouse in Social Circle, GA is in escrow and nearing final sale. The transaction will remove an estimated $30K from the Georgia and Walton County tax stream. The sale also gives ICE another 8,500 beds. The selling owner is the PNK S1, LLC of Atlanta, GA.

I’ve seen a lot of questions on these lines, and the quick answer is that once the federal government purchases the property (including the land the warehouse sits on), local governments cannot regulate them or tax them. They are now federal properties and so the Supremacy Clause applies.
Aren't warehouses usually zoned as 'Commercial/Industrial' properties?

So, then why are they being used as 'Residential'!?

Am I wrong?

ICE is likely paying a premium to get the deal through quickly. E.g., in Hamburg, PA, the warehouse was purchased in 2024 for $57.5 million and sold to ICE for $87 million.

The real profit will come with the private prison companies and contractors hired to refurbish and staff these facilities.
