On dress hems...if the hem on the front of your dress is longer than the floor it becomes a tripping hazard. You can also step on it and rip or damage your dress.

As a tailor, I watched the MET gala red carpet with a very critical eye. The dress code was "tailored just for you". These are a few of the trouser hems that made me so sad. It's fine to max out your break but you should never be stepping on your hem. They will be ruined.
