Faith and Trauma Center
@faithandtraumacenter.org
A resource and training website exploring the intersections of religion, trauma, mental health, and healing founded by @christielove.bsky.social‬ & Holly Madden. Also the home of the Faith and Trauma Center Podcast.
Many with religious trauma struggle to be proud of themselves and celebrate their successes because pride was always negative and something to feel guilty about. Self esteem is seen as selfish.

Healing is learning to celebrate yourself and accept that you are worthy of compliments.

No matter how much healing work you have done… triggers can still catch you off guard.

Be gentle with yourself when it happens.

Healing is not linear and your trauma is not a source of shame.

In 2021, I published a book called God of the Gaps, about finding faith in the in-between spaces of our lives. Today, I am thinking of the gap between the values and principles that so many gave their lives to protect in this nation.... and what our country has become. I am grieving the gap today.
