For best results with factorialbiomechanics.com, record your subject at a distance of at least 10 ft (3m).

Use a distance greater than 30ft (10m) from your subject with ultra high definition (4k) or a telephoto lens.

Optical zoom is best, digital zoom is not recommended.

TIPS!

Make note of the fps setting used, even saying it out loud in the video, to ensure accurate measurements later.

The Biomechanics Lab is awesome.
But what if it was powered by your phone and laptop, and could follow the action wherever it happens?

Use a tripod!
Stable video will provide cleaner data and graphs that are easier to understand.
If you don't have one, rest your camera or smartphone against a steady surface.

Spend your valuable time on the action, not the set-up.

Record with any camera, analyze on your laptop, retrieve valuable data and share insights in real-time.

Get valuable data right from the action, as it happens.
Avoid adding new variables by reenacting movements in the lab.
Record in the gym, in the field, on the track, and analyze from wherever.

Motion data beyond the lab: in the gym or on the field, where it actually happens. Bring markerless mocap into the classroom, let students get excited with hands-on experience of analyzing their own (and and their classmates') movements.

See one, do one, teach one; as they say. Virtually.

We learn from making observations, having interactions and conversations with those around us. We learn from the more experienced, and share our knowledge with beginners to help them and expand our own understanding.
