Here's the last reference sheet done by @exleston.bsky.social for Aces High! Three lesser characters who contributed to the story - and one who has one act left - in John's life. Going forward, we'll have some special stuff to post! So stay tuned!
A trio of reference sheets. Below it is labeled as Norman MacMillan, Alfred Verne, and David Little, corresponding to the three depictions on the sheet. All are anthro animals. All are male. In the back, the largest is a bison in simple frontier clothes clutching the strap to a Springfield 1884 trapdoor rifle. Bottom left is a boar with a buzzed razorback wearing rumbled, dirty, heavily-patched clothing. His one hand holds a simple hat while the other holds a wicked stick of dynamite. A cigarette is clenched in his snout and the marks of cirrhosis flower in his cheeks. The last, bottom right, is a thin donkey in similar clothes to the first, though he has a gunbelt instead of a rifle. He looks young and a bit dumb, his mane cut and combed almost into a human-like hairdo.

1. It's insulting to our intelligence.

A reference sheet for a character, it depicts a female badger facing the viewer dressed in men's clothing and holding a banded club that looks as cruel as her smile is deceiving. Behind her is a view of a plantation home, referencing her Georgian upbringing. Beatrice shares her Aces card with her twin brother, which is why the card, the Ace of Clubs, while is shows two figures, aren't the same person mirrored but with Bea on top and Beau on the bottom.

Been considering a standalone short story set in the Aces setting, something I doubt I'd include in the third novel as a flashback, with John finding his way into the bed of the son of a wealthy industrialist. I mentioned it offhandedly in the first novel so I figure, why not?

The leader of the gang and Ace of Hearts, Jesse de Molai is the leader of the gang and John's big brother, a big reason why he left home. While protective of his family, charming, and pretty, Jesse is no less dangerous than anyone else. Art done by the wonderful @exleston.bsky.social!
A reference sheet for a big-horned ram named Jesse de Molai, he's depicted as having pure white fur and almost-golden hooves and curled horns. His eyes are sky blue and he's dressed primarily in black and red, very tasteful and fashionable. His accoutrements include his pistol, hat, and a black jacket with a red pocket square. His Ace card shows him flipping a coin that transforms into flower petals and then into a bottle pouring ambrosia into a shot glass that he holds in his opposite hand.

The other Ace focused on in Aces High is Silas Engels, John's adoptive father, teacher, and guardian angel (in more ways than one). Soft-spoken, highly religious, and gentle, he still suffers no fools and is more dangerous than he ever lets on. Art done by the wonderful @exleston.bsky.social!

Ace's High's edits are now complete. While it is slightly different than the original (and corrects some contradictions) the story itself is unchanged. Since I don't know when/if a reprint is possible, anyone who wants a .pdf is welcome to it, especially if you have an original copy. >.>

The latest stunningly beautiful work by @exleston.bsky.social, meet John's adoptive mother, Teresa Bouchard. A wise sage, a voodoo caplata, and the ringmaster of a traveling carnival of social outcasts and marginalized beasts, she raised John until he departed at the age of 16.
A female leopardess, fur all black, stands as if waiting for your arrival with hands folded together. She wears a conservative dress including a shawl, head wrap, over top men's clothes meant for work. Her eyes are a strong orange and behind her is a vague look at the vardos that comprise the wagons her people travel around in, belonging to La Cirque Fantastique. Around her are information about her, as well as a depiction of the Bulldog pistol she keeps in the folds of her clothes for the customers who need... reminded where they are.
