Realising I'm actually annoyed by the Pokemon Lego reveal. It's aimed at collectors with money to burn, not at kids or Pokemon fans.

It's the same thing that's happening with the TCG. Both are rapidly moving to the place so many things are going; where only the wealthy are allowed to enjoy.

A disappointingly massive swing from "I need those sets in my life" before the reveal to an "Ugh, no thank you" afterwards

Exercised today, and by 'Exercise' I mean 'Ran around my local neighborhood doing raids in Pokemon Go'.

"Hooray for the weekend!", me and my wife cry, before spending 3 hours cleaning the house

50% done in Proverbs. I will complete the game eventually, partly because it's a chill and relaxing puzzler, mainly because I'm extremely stubborn and would insist on doing so even if the grid was triple the size.

Work day has been spent writing a risk assessment audit report.

Yes, that is as crushingly boring as it sounds.

It's Infinite Wealth, and if Astro Bot wasn't there it wouldn't even be a close-run thing.
Quote this with your favourite game from 2024, and whether that's changed from what you would have said a year ago

Localisations/early access/expansions count, remasters/ports don't. Remakes depend.

Two-way ties count.

What a steal

Having a friendly discussion with another raider pre-extraction in ARC Raiders - whilst the corpse of another I killed laid nearby - has got to be one of the most deceitful things I've ever done in a video game.

One day off work left and if anything the pile of stuff I want to do with my free time has only increased.

No point in posting my Letterboxd wrapped, due to the fact that - like my Spotify - it's an incredibly random assortment of stuff it can't reflect accurately in a summary. My most watched director is George Lucas purely on the fact I spent a week watching the Star Wars prequels.

Christmas period has tired me out so much that today I went to cook bread rolls in the washing machine

Had such intense dreams about not completing one of the assignments for my university degree I woke up at one point and started checking my emails for notes.

I completed my degree almost 15 years ago.

Spending the days before Christmas in the office has reduced me to typing all the games I've played this year into a spreadsheet, because it's the most fun thing I can think of that looks like actual work.

Battlefield 6 ain't my game of the year, but moments like this give me pause to think it should be.

Sometimes think I play Battlefield 6 too much, then get teamed with someone literally 100 levels higher then me and are relieved to be reminded of my ability to touch grass.

Everyone talks about the Sonic 3 barrel of doom, but this is where childhood me really suffered the trauma.

Trying to find stocking filler Christmas presents, which is leading me constantly to one of two results;

a) £30-£50 gifts which are objectively not stocking fillers
b) Actual stockings

Remarkable how dead on arrival Battlefield 6's take on Battle Royale is. Not even a month in and it's a struggle to find games on a Friday night.

I'd like to think it's the start of the decline of the popularity of the genre, but know it's way more likely that it's just not a very refined thing.

Spent two and a half hours driving in the rain today to try and get a Christmas present, only for the item I wanted to not be in stock despite the website stating otherwise. Yaaaay.

Filling in a "What's gone well and what has been a challenge in 2025?" questionnaire in work, and the fact all my answers are heavily skewing to the latter part of that question is making me regret doing this first thing on a Monday.

Finally had the moment every Lego fan dreads of a large expensive set falling and just exploding into a million pieces upon impact with the floor. Managed to stay reasonably calm despite all the internal screaming.
November 8, 2025 at 9:19 PM
Really compelled by Battlefield 6 despite the bizarre torrent of online hate for it. For every moment a dumb team member leaves you for dead there's another where you feel like you're really swaying the tide of battle. Good to have the series firing on all cylinders again.

Returned from holiday on an overnight flight I failed to sleep on, meaning I had about 2 hours sleep in 36 hours followed by 14 hours where I was dead to the world. My body is not very happy right now.
