I invite all my followers here to consider following European Movement Mid Kent (@emmidkent.bsky.social).
I am a single individual; it would be great if you could follow our regional group (as well!)
In this way, we can, perhaps, grow our numbers.
Please think about it.

💥 For a new report, @demos-uk.bsky.social interviewed 700+ teenagers.

72.8% agreed: democracy must be defended at all costs. But many weren't happy with the way it currently works.

"Change the voting system" was proposed as one of the solutions. We agree.

Last month marked the centenary of Margaret Thatcher’s birth. In my latest Substack post, I argue that progressives, and not just her fans, have much to learn from her electoral victories

“His wife has shared the wonderful news that Sam woke up briefly yesterday, and she was able to speak with him for a short time. This is a truly positive step forward, though there is still a long journey ahead in his recovery.”

Excellent news. ~AA

60% of the public agrees.
More MPs than ever agree.
Supporters of all parties agree.

We deserve better than governments that 2/3 of the public voted against, or MPs that 3/4 of their constituents didn't choose.

We deserve better than to be ignored over and over again, because of where we live or who we support.

We all deserve better than First Past the Post.

"I wonder how many people are prepared to play by the system in the future, when you take into account that (...) 1 in 5 of the nation actually voted for the government."

It was great to speak to Nigel Evans about why he changed his mind about electoral reform, and how FPTP undermines trust.

"We have a five- or six-party-system trapped in the body of a two-party electoral system."

@timbale.bsky.social explains why multi-party politics is here to stay 👇

Voters want real choice. We need a proportional voting system that makes it possible.
