Time to rebuild the Social Contract, every job must be a quality job with wages you can live on and with right to collective bargaining recognised.
Today, UNI Europa Professionals & Managers kicks off its three-day Conference in Venice, Italy.

@estherlynch.bsky.social from @etuc-ces.bsky.social noted that they “are under much more pressure than in the past. Today, a university degree no longer guarantees a stable future.”

Together, we have the power to turn back the Trump administration’s attacks on working people.

Gloria Mills, ETUC Women’s Committee President, said:

💬 “We cannot allow attempts by corporations to bring us backwards stop us from moving forwards. Commission must now double down on moving concrete measures that strengthen women’s rights forward."

Stop attacking on Pay Transparency Directive!
Having received assurances by the Commission that any backsliding on the Pay Transparency Directive is ruled out, we will conditionally endorse the Roadmap for #WomensRights today.

Our red lines:
✂️ No backsliding on existing rights

The raid on the PGFTU is an unacceptable act of intimidation.

We call on the European Union to ensure the trade union movement of Palestine is protected from this type of agression so that it can play its crucial role for peace.

The #CSDDD is a key tool to ensure corporate accountability in global supply chains.

To meet its purpose, prevent exploitation like Rana Plaza, the directive must not be undermined. Union involvement & civil liability must be maintained.

Too many workers in Europe do the same work but for very different pay. Today in Gdansk Im hearing evidence that the east - west pay gap still isnt getting better. It’s time for the EU to back our demands for upward wage convergence because equal work deserves equal pay, everywhere!

✊Today is World Day for Decent Work. But for millions, there’s little to celebrate.

Long and complex subcontracting chains lead to the exploitation of vulnerable workers. When unscrupulous companies lower the price, it’s the workers who pay the highest price, sometimes with their own lives.

On #WorldDayForDecentWork we stand with @etuc-ces.bsky.social to demand a #JustTransition that means secure jobs, strong unions and public ownership.

This week isn’t the final vote but it’s a crucial moment for the #DueDiligence Directive.
The rapporteur’s two plans weaken workers’ rights & let companies off the hook.
We need civil liability so unions can defend abused workers. Where does your MEP stand?
