Just seven countries now have the top rating for respecting workers' rights, compared with nearly 40 that are rated at the bottom. Three out of five global regions saw conditions worsen in the past year

If workers can turn the tide of popular opinion squarely against Musk’s “Department of Government Efficiency”, it’s likely to meet the same fate as the administration’s unpopular funding freeze. Escaping this crisis will depend, above all, on the actions of federal workers.
