I’d argue this is exactly what the founding fathers had in mind. A diverse country. Where local leaders were elected by the local population. Sounds about right to me.
May dad grew up in Dearborn Michigan when it was run by a corrupt segregationist who literally sent the police to harass and drive out Black and Jewish families if they tried to move in. He was in change as late as the mid 1970s. Guessing Walsh would’ve had no problem with that.
