Starbucks’ CEO makes 6,666x what the average @sbworkersunited.org barista does. It would take less than one day of sales to finalize a fair contract.

Baristas at Starbucks corporate stores nationwide are on strike to fight this corporate greed and get the fair contract they deserve.

It all comes down to a system steeped in slavery and racism that rewards wealth accumulation. It's structural in both regards.

We need to be smarter. The root of all our problems is economic. Both the left and the right’s politicians have protected corporations over people - an inhumane practice.

This is a up down fight!

Not a left right war.

Before Reagan, Keynesian capitalism had guardrails - taxing the rich, strong unions, public goods - and it created our one and only middle class.

Neoliberalism tore it down: Deregulation and privatization. Inequality is back at 1920s levels.

We’ve done it differently before. We can again.

Tho we have social safety-nets in place: the fed, unemployment, social security- we are getting very close the the income inequality of the 1920’s. In 1928, the top 1% captured about 24% of all income. Today, it’s around 20%, and climbing.

Let’s bring back:

It’s not a culture war, it’s a class war!

They want to divide us, but we are smarter than that. I love my neighbors. I don’t care who you vote for, our biggest issue today is economics and both parties have screwed us.

WIP- been thinking about the stories in Greek mythology while making this box - specifically pandora & psyche. Left in Pandora’s box was Elpis. Broadly translated as hope but more correctly translated as expectation. Boxes hold hidden potential - & in today’s world hope is a beautiful potential.
