I'm interested in research and learning resources for all library, museum, and archive types. I support content creation for OCLC, primarily in support of OCLC Research, Research Library Partnership, and WebJunction programs.
Can someone please explain maternity cardigans to me? I don't understand what need they're filling.

Whenever I’m about to join something I’ve registered for (and want to attend) I always feel this big of regret-for the time I won’t have to get on with things. And then, nearly always, it is so worth it to take time to learn and discuss.

I had my toddler help "bake" cookies for Thanksgiving by getting the take-and-break kind from the store so he could break them apart, put them on the tray, and watch them bake in the oven. And you know what, they were a hit. Why do I bake my own cookies when store bought cookie dough is delicious?

This was actually the biggest adjustment I had to parenthood. Again, it seems so obvious, but I remember sitting in a rocker holding my newborn, staring off into the void, going, "Oh..... " And there was just know way to mentally prepare for that until it happened.
For me it was realizing they would be my responsibility all the time except for short stretches of time, but during those times they could theoretically come back to me at any moment. Like obviously I knew this, but in reality it’s like oh wait, but I wanted to binge watch TV all day???
Before you have kids, you intellectually understand they need to eat dinner every day. But you do not understand what this means. You can't. They need to eat dinner EVERY day
